Micah 6:8  He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

This is a great topic in today’s world.  Here are few thoughts—but first what is the definition from the dictionary:  “justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society”.

Now for the bomb!  Social justice will never happen in the world we now live in.  Who has tried it—Plato, Aristotle, Stalin, Mao, Marx, and more.  Human imperfection (sin) will always result in social collapse.

Social justice and equality for all is not always a secular effort—it is also promoted by various religions of the world, such as Judaism, Catholicism, Islam, and Hinduism.  Israel to this day has adopted socialism in the hope that it could establish an equitable lifestyle.

The Bible does not teach equality as the solution to social stability,  The term “fairness” is not found in the Bible.

If you read John 12:4-8 (woman who anointed Jesus with expensive ointment) you will note that Jesus says there will always be an impoverished underclass in this world.

Christian charity is a large part of our faith.  We do good works and deeds as a result of our faith in Jesus.  Social justice and fairness will become a reality only when Jesus comes back to establish the Kingdom Age.  May that happen soon!
