Why do we rebel against God?  After all that God has given to us through His Son. Jesus came to this earth as our example, He suffered and died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. His resurrection defeated sin and death so that we may have eternal life. Yet we continue to sin. Christians understand that we were born with a sinful nature, but that does not give us the right to habitually sin. Sins of rebellion are premeditated, we think about them, we may talk about them, then we act upon them.
God has given us His Spirit, to help us overcome our sinful nature.

The secular world we live in today promotes rebellion, people do not to listen to authority. There are many ways to live in rebellion. Living a life style of sin, refusing to live as God would have us conduct our lives, trusting in our self, rejecting God.
“There is no one so great or mighty that he can avoid the misery that will rise up against him when he resists and strives against God”.  (John Calvin)
“The beginning of man’s rebellion against God was and is the lack of a thankful heart”.
(Francis Schaeffer)

2 Timothy 3: 1-5.  But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving , unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal , despiser of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away.
*The above list of sins do not happen by accident, they are premeditated and planned.*

2 Chronicles 7 : 14. If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face , and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land.
