A peacemaker is defined as – one who makes peace through reconciliation.
Jesus said “ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”  Matthew 5:9

A peacemaker has a genuine love for others, encourage each other, build strong and healthy relationships. “ You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. 1 Peter 1:22

A peacemaker prays. Ask God for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. To give you words that will comfort and not hurt. “ Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your path, guide me in your truth, humble me as I share your word.”
Psalms 25:4”

A peacemaker builds trust in every relationship. If you believe a person cares about you and wants what is best for you, you are more likely to work together toward peace. “Brothers and sisters, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about things that are true, honorable, pure, and respectful. The God who gives you peace will be with you.”  Philippians 4:8-9.

A peacemaker requires much understanding. Listening is key to the process.
“ The mind of a person with understanding gains knowledge, the wise person listens to learn more.”  Proverbs 18:15

A peacemaker controls his/her anger. Carefully choose your words, watch your tone and body language. Emotions may be high, you must remain calm.
“ Do not be bitter or angry, never shout angrily or say things that will hurt others. Be kind and respect to each other, forgiving others is a blessing.” Ephesians 4:31-32

A peacemaker speaks in truth and works toward resolution. Make every effort to communicate clearly and how much you value the person and the relationship. Do what you can, do your best. Then trust God  with the outcome.
“ Trust in God with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.” Philippians 4:7

Peace-making is an essential part of our Christian living.
Peace-making is not easy. “ With God’s grace and his help the peacemaker will plant seeds of peace and harvest righteousness.” James 3:18
