Are you a jealous person?
Why are your brothers and sisters more handsome / prettier than me?
Why do your peers seem to have more money and material things than me?
Why are some of your friends more popular and acceptable by others? The list of questions could be endless.
Jealousy is a selfish ambition, a desire deep rooted within your heart and mind. Jealousy has a sense of inadequacy which can easily be converted into anger and bitterness. Constant coveting is one of the hardest emotions to control. Some say jealousy is a disease, it is not, it is a sin.

How do you overcome jealousy?
You need to learn to be satisfied with what you have and happy for those who may have more. Your worth is demonstrated by God’s love for you. John 3.16
For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  Seek God’s help through prayer and repentance. Ask Him to reveal to you the depth of your jealousy. Let His Word become known to you through wisdom and understanding. Ask Him to give you the faith and trust to follow His Word, create in you a new heart filled with love and kindness for others. He will help you to lead a righteous life, free from the sin of jealousy. Knowing and trusting in God that He will deliver you from this sin, in Jesus name.
