Do you enjoy a healthy diet? Here are a few healing foods found in the Bible.

Olives and Olive Oil: Found in Deuteronomy 8:8. Olive oil is one of the most digestible fats and helps to reduce aging of body tissues, organs, and even the brain. Protects against the risk of cancer, heart disease, and can even guard against stomach ulcers.

Nuts: Found in Genesis 43:11. Pistachio nuts are high as antioxidants; contain lutein; and contain resveratrol, a cancer-protection ingredient. Almond nuts are high in protein and fiber.

Fruit: Found in 1 Samuel 30:11-12. Pomegranates have high anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-tumor properties. Figs are low in calories and high in fiber. Grapes contain resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant for guarding against colon and prostate cancer and reducing stroke risk.

Beans and Lentils: Found in 2 Samuel 17:28. Great source of protein and fiber. Legumes contain foliate, especially important to pregnant women, are good antioxidants, and low in saturated fats.

Fish: Found in Leviticus 11:9. Fish are a great source of nutrients and protein as well as healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

Flax: Found in Proverbs 31:13. Flax is high in fiber, Omega-3 fatty acids, protein and lignan. Flax helps as an antioxidant; maintaining blood sugar and cholesterol; and cancer prevention.

Goat Milk and Products: Found in Proverbs 27:27. Goat’s milk has less lactose and contains multiple vitamins, enzymes and proteins. Helps in the treatment of inflammatory diseases.

Raw Honey: Found in Deuteronomy 26:9. Raw honey is called “liquid gold” due to its antioxidant, antifungal, and anti-bacterial properties. Raw honey will boost the immune system and sooth a sore throat or cough.

Sprouted Grains and Breads: Found in Ezekiel 4:9. The bread in Bible times involved the sprouting of the natural grains. The sprouted grains have a higher count of amino acids, dietary fiber, and antioxidant activity. There is a bread today called Ezekiel bread.

Spices, Seasonings, and Herbs: Found in Exodus 30:23. Some of these are: cumin, cinnamon, garlic, coriander, frankincense, mint, dill, balm, aloes, myrrh and rue. All of these contain healing properties such as promoting digestion and aiding the immune system.
